Out of My Comfort Zone?

Hi there,
I was trwaling through various challenge sites when I came across one I hadn't seen before called Desert Islands Craft Challenge. Their current challenge is really different as you have to use at least three of ten differnt specified techniques! They were - Dry embossing, Paper Piercing, Pearls, Ruffles, Fabric, Stickers, Stitching, Vintage/Old, Kraft Card and Office Stationery. This is the card I came up with

I included, Dry embossing, Paper Piercing, Pearls and Vintage/Old.

I used so many different items I'm not sure I can remember them all, but here goes. Card was all from Stampin' Up and the colours used were Old Olive, Chocolate Chip, Really Rust Creamy Caramel and a red I can't remamber the name of! Oops! The pearls were from my stash and I used SU's Mat Pack to do the paper piercing. The stamp sets were from SU aswell. One was Vintage Vogue and the other I have mislaid somewhere on my messy craft table so I can't tell you the name. I hope I find it soon because I love it.

Kutie Kitty Kat

Hi there!
I hope that you are still enjoying the hols - I know that I am, even though work has gone crazy with the kids off.
However I've still found time to test my hubby's patience and take over the living room with craft stuff! Hee, hee!
Here is a card I made to go with the Penny Black Saturday Challenge. Their challenge this week is Anything Goes and you can get to it with this link http://pennybfriendssaturdaychallenge.blogspot.com/

So here is the card I made -

The coloured card is some that I got in a little craft shop in St.Agnes, Cornwall and the white is Whisper White from SU.

The cat is from the Penny Black "Hugs" clear stamp set and the sentiment is from SU's Curvy Verses set. the flowers were from the SU Vintage Vogue and I made the frames using my Cuttlebug and die-cuts from X Cut. The embossing was with the Craft Concepts 'Garden Swirl' folder.

I hope you like this card as I'm totally in love with the colours and I'm a HUGE cat fan!

Hello again,
Here is my entry to the Diva Coffee Break Designs challenge blog (http://divacoffeebreakdesigns.blogspot.com/).
This is the sketch we were given to work with -

And here is what I came up with.

Colours were Whisper White, Close to Cocoa and Pixie Pink. The stamps were from the Four Frames and the Thanks for Caring sets (all from Stampin' Up!), the punches were the Eyelet border punch and "the punch whose name I cannot remember but goes with the Four Frames stamp set" punch:)
I also used the Polka Dot embossing folder that is in the new mini catalogue.
I tried to stay with the original sketch and not stray too much. Only a few liberties!

Going Green

Hi there,

This is a card that I made for a friend of mine who just turned 73. The bird punch is from Stampin' Up! and the colours were Whisper White and Pear Pizazz. The backing paper was from a free pack that came with a crafting magazine. Usually I find the "free" paper packs dismal at best but this set was actually really nice quality and went very well with the SU In Colours.

The frame was made using a Nellie's Multi Frame die and the embossing in the middle was done with Craft Concepts Garden Swirl embossing folder, on vellum, which I placed over some more white.

Hi there,
Sorry for not posting in so long. Not sure exactly where the time has gone but a significant part of it has been spent crafting (at my house at least!).
This is a 4x4 card I made using one of the "Nellie's Multi Frame" sets I bought.
The card and colours are from Stampin' Up! and are Very Vanilla, Rich Razzleberry and Always Artichoke. The stamp set is also from SU and is Oh, so lovely.
I also used a couple of punches from SU too.
Not that you can see it very well on the photo but the centre embelishment is actually on the back fold of card - I die-cut a hole on the front.
Have to say I'm LOVIN my Cuttlebug!!! Got one for Christmas and now I couldn't imagine crafting without one. Weird, huh? Oh, Well.

Friendly Note cards

Good morning fellow crafters!
I hope you are having a great day. I woke up this morning wondering what I could do to fill my day off work and then it hit me...crafting! Why did I even have to think about it? I don't know but at least I thought of crafting before I thought of cleaning. I cleaned yesterday. She says.

Here is a little set of note cards I made using one of my favourite stamp sets, Vintage Vogue, from Stampin' Up!
Needless to say my Stamp-a-ma-jig came in very useful. They are so summery I love them.

I also did a little holder to put them in. Cards on one side and envelopes in the other. If you get one as a Christmas gift, sorry you saw it here before I gave it to you. Or one like it.

I hope that you are all having a great day and getting lots of crafting time!Here is a memo holder I made a while back using the Penny Black "Every Which Way" clear stamp set.

I love this kitty SO much. It is completly adorable and I want to use it alot!

The card stock is from Stampin' Up! in Whisper White and Sage Shadow, and the inks used to colour the image were SU too. The pink ribbon down the side is just from my stash.

Good Morning!

I recently purchased the butterfly punch from SU and so I decided to finally have a play.

I wanted to make something simple, fun and not too restricted by age. I hope that this can be given to any aged lady, from 3+. Younger than that and they might try eating the butterfly!
I used SU Whisper White and their DSP in Perfect Plum and Old Olive. The punches used were their butterfly punch and the 1 3/8 circle. The stamp was Fresh Cuts and the Dazzling Diamonds was fixed with a two-way glue pen.

Sorry I haven't posted anything for a while. Not quite sure what happened. Time seems to have rushed by without my noticing. This week over at Funky Friday it's a sketch challenge.

Must say I found this a really hard sketch for some reason

and the card is NOTHING like the card I had in my head.I also tried to use some of the colours that were retiring this month, but the reason I had them still was because I didn't know how to use them!

Morning all!

And what a lovely day it is! The Challenge over at Funky Friday this week is a sketch challenge. Here it is.

And here is what I came up with.

The colours I used were Whisper White, Old Olive, and Cameo Coral( I love Coral and am devistated that it is being dropped by SU this year. I may have to bulk buy!)

The stamp sets used were Playful Petals and Vintage Labels. I also used the Sweet Pea Stiched Felt for the first time. So cute!

Hi there,
I know this is really late but I couldn't seem to find the time to blog with my card this week! Anyhooo, Here is the card I made for Funky Friday Challenge. The theme was anything but a square and so I decided to make a slightly more dimentional card. I love this stamp set from SU called A flower for all seasons and I love the way the colours work together. I'm even quite pleased with my watercolouring! That's new!

The colours I used were Old Olive, Always Artichoke, Whisper White and Pumpkin Pie. The ribbon was in AA and I used the Eyelet Punch for the edging.

Hello!

I usually only put papercraft items on my blog but I decided that I might aswell post some of the other things that I make on here. Why not? So here is a topsy-turvy doll I knitted a while ago. I think the designer is Jean Greenhowe.
So here she is. My Cinderella doll. What do you think?

As the belle of the ball she has a dance card in one hand with all the dances set aside for the Hansome Prince and in the other a fan.I know that her face does look quite pale but it was actually a pale flesh coloured wool.

Anyway I love her to bits even though she sits out of sight in the corner of a room.

Anyway, this week over at Funky Friday we have a sketch challenge.

Here is what I made

I used Whisper White and Not Quite Navy card stock with Taken with Teal and Not Quite Navy ink. The ribbon was Regal Rose and the brads were from the Hodgepodge Hardware kit.

It was very simple but to add a little more interest I decoupaged the wing and the flowers of my bird.

Morning all!
I hope you are all well this lovely morning.

This is a card I made for two challenges. Cupcake Craft Challenges (Cats and Dogs theme) and Sweet Sketch Wednesday. For the moment I have lost the piece of paper that tells me how to add a link in my post but you can find links for both challenges down the right-hand side of the page.

Here is the sketch.

The card was all from Stampin' Up! in Pink Passion, Pixie Pink, Whisper White and Chocolate Chip. The brads and ribbon are both Certainly Celery and the DSP is Choc Chip too. The flower was a white one from my stash but I sponged it in Pretty in Pink and Certainly Celery and I think it turned out really well!

The Stamp is from Penny Black and is Called "Merci".

I did make a slight boo-boo with the ribbon as I forgot to attatch it to the card before I stuck the Choc Chip down so I had to tease it under with a pokey tool! Oops! But all's well that ends well, eh?

Recycling challenge

My first week on the Funky Friday design team :) and we had to reduce, re-use and recycle so here's my cotton bud container from my bedroom (which used to be a cocktail stick holder) which I jazzed up with the Fresh Cuts stamp set and the Vintage Labels from stampin' Up! I used Certainly Celery and Perfect Plum card stock and Always Artichoke and Elegant Eggplant ribbon. I edged the card with Mellow moss and Perfect Plum ink. The punches used were the Eyelet punch and the Scalloped circle (both from SU of course!).
On the top I did some decoupage to match the flower on the front and used Soft Subtles brads in the middle.

Scrunchy Flower Card

Hello!

I like this one better than the other one i made for the Funky Friday Challenge - I got to spent a bit longer on it!

Both stamps were from the Vintage Labels set. I used Chocolate Chip DSP, the Scalloped Circle punch to make the faux suede flower, the Corner Punch to make the scalloped edge and some Whisper White ribbon all from SU!

I think the top corners need something but I'm not sure what.

Here is a card I made using the Vintage Vogue stamp set from SU. It was supposed to look very different than it does but I still like it. Maybe I'll actually do the card in my head one day instead of getting carried away and doing something else. How does that happen anyway? The card in my head looks nice (I think!). Why can't I seem to make it? Knowing me I'll hate it when I finally do! Oh, well.

The colours used were Bashful Blue, Whisper White, Ballet Blue and Brilliant Blue. The stamp sets were Curvy verses and Vintage Vogue.

Vintage Flowers

I love Sunshine, don't you? It cheers me up.

This is another card I made with my new SU Vintage Vogue stamp set. I am loving that too!

The colours I used were Whisper White, Certainly Celery and Perfect Plum (to get the paler purple I just stamped on some scrap paper first). Also I got to use my paper crimper and my X-cut shape cutter.

This is a card I made for the Cupcake Crafts Challenge. The theme was 'Not a square', which I found a bit tricky. I love square cards.

However, here is what I came up with.

The stamp is from the Docrafts 'Daisy and Dandelion' range, the baking paper is from Forever Friends and the base card is Pale Plum. The punch is from Stampin' Up, and the flowers were from Papermania.I coloured the picture with SU inks.

I haven't made a card in ages! At least not for a challenge or for fun!

I started reading the "Twilight" books. Need I say more? Probably not.

Anyway....here is a card I made for this weeks Funky Friday Challenge.

Here is the sketch.

And here is what I made.

I hadn't used this technique for an age (let alone shrink plastic) so I thought that it was about time I did.

I used clear shrink plastic, Stampin' Pastels, Bashful Blue card and DSP, Chocolate Chip card and ribbon, Whisper White card and inks in BB and CC. The stamp sets used were Playful Petals and Curvy Verses - both from Stampin' Up!

Here is a close up of one of the stamp impressions. So pretty. I love that technique!

Almost a challenge!

Morning!
This is a card I made for the Mojo Monday Sketch Challenge this week. But if you go to their blog you will see my mistake. Ooops! Never mind, eh? I did think about changing it but I like this card as it is so if I do enter this week I will just make another card.

The colours I used were SU Elegant Eggplant, Lavender Lace and white card from my stash (Whisper White should be on its way!).
The flowers were from Papermania and the stamp set I used was Whimsical Wings from SU. I am loving this set!
I also used their Eyelet Border punch but the embossing was done by hand with a Fiskars embossing board. I also did some bead work-nightmare!

My First Whimsical Wings

Everyone enjoying the rain today?

For this card I used the Whimsical Wings stamp set from SU for the first time. I love it! I layered up the flowers and the wing to give it a bit more dimension. The rose was made with Elegant Eggplant, Lavender Lace, White card from my stash and some of the backing card I used for the bottom half. The white brads were again from my stash and the ribbon is Elegant Eggplant 1/4" Grosgrain.

Happy Monday morning!

I hope that you all had a fantastic weekend. I know I did. And the reason you may ask? Well my Stampers 10 order turned up and I got to play with all my new stuff! I'm still so excited! Which is really strange considering that I made a black and white card. It is not a reflection of my mood;)

The stamp sets I used were my new SU Funky Forest roller, my new SU Forest Friends and my new SU Curvy Verses.

Did I say they were new?:)

I also used my black Staz-on (which is running out) and some black and white ribbon from my stash. The tabbed corners were made using a punch.

Well I am off to see what else I can make with my new stuff!

I decided that as I liked the colours so much I would make another card for the Funky Friday Challenge .

So here is what I made. Very different from the last card I made with these colours I'm sure you will agree!

The stamp sets I used were Vintage Lables and Three for You, both from SU. The daisy punch was from my stash (I have yet to order the flower punches from SU, hopefully next time!).

The ribbon I used was not from Su as I didn't have enough of my Choc Chip Grosgrain but it does match.

Funky Friday # 50!

Good Morning!

I can't believe that there have been 50 Funky Friday Challenges! Not that I have had a go at all of them, but still.

Anyway, here is the card that I made. It was a colour challenge this week and the colours were Pretty in Pink, Close to Cocoa, Chocolate Chip, Barely Banana and Whisper White. Wouldn't you know that, apart from the Whisper White, they are the colours that I am almost out of? Typical.

The only colour that I had a full sheet of was the Close to Cocoa and so that is what my base card is made of. The stamp set that I used was Botanical Blossoms and the flower was made using the scallop punch. I first did the faux suede technique on them and then scrunched, opened and attatched them together with a brad. Then you scrunch again and fluff them as wanted. I like them and you will probably be seeing alot more of them in my crafting!

The flower is set on a band of Pretty in Pink that you lift off over the top.

I'm now off to see what else I can come up with as I love the colours!

Hello!
This is a card made by someone who is very new to cardmaking. In fact it's only about the 9th card that they have ever done and I thought that it was really sweet, especially as I know how much crafting supplies they don't yet have. It was based on the sketch challenge over at the Funky Friday Challenge.

Now, they are probably going to kill me for posting it so if you don't hear from me for a while you may want to sent the police around to see if I'm still alive! In the hopes of evading grief I have left it as anonymus! Please leave your comments as the creator is convinced that it is awful but I think it's pretty good and I'm going to enter it anyway.
They used Whisper White cardstock and Lovely Lilac ink. Not sure where the stamp came from but he is very cute. Backing papers were from their stash as was the lilac flower, which was attached with a mini glue dot.

Just a note!

Evening all!

I didn't manage to get to the Stampers 10 meeting I'm a part of last night, but our demonstrator Abi very kindly put a video tutorial on the blog for those of us at home so that we could follow along. (Much apreciated by the way!)

So this is the card that I made this morning. It was originally going to be white card as the 'envelope' but as I was putting it together I had an urge to use Summer Sun and I am glad that I did.

The stamp set I used was Fresh Cuts and the cardstock was Stampin' Up Summer Sun, Cameo Coral, Certainly Celery DSP and the ribbon was So Saffron I think. The brads just came from my stash.

Mornin! Again!

Here is another card I made for this weeks Funky Friday Challenge.

I used SU Perfect Plum, Barley Banana, Old Olive and Creamy Caramel cardstock and a piece of my Hodgepodge Hardware to accent the ribbon. The brads are from my stash and the punches I used were the corner rounder punch and the Eyelet border punch again from Stampin' Up.

I really like this card. I think the colours go really well. I love that about SU, everything co-ordinates.

Good mornin!

I hope you are enjoying the glorious weather this Mothers Day.

I have never made a card like this although I have always been envious of those that can do it well. I'm not sure if I've managed to carry it off but what the heck! I like it although my husband (Mr. Simplicity) is decidely unsure about it.

I used a stamp that I got off the front of a card magazine (can't remember which one though!)

I used SU card stock in Very Vanilla and Pretty in Pink (with alot of Creamy Caramel ink), the backing papers, butterfly and leaves are from the stash of stuff a very nice lady gave me. She makes cards but has decided to focus on digital ones and so wanted to get rid of lots of her stash. I am over the moon but feeling a bit guilty as she has given me alot of really nice stuff. Love you Jessie! The rest came from my stash.

I hope you like it. Tips and positive criticism is wanted and welcomed. (Please don't be too harsh or I may cry, seriously!)

Bunny Love! Funky Friday # 48

Hello!

I love this bunny rabbit! He/she/it is just so darn cute! This is my entry for the Funky Friday Challenge # 48 this week. Their theme is Spring and I figured a bunny and flowers were pretty spring-like.

Also, it moves! I totally cased the layout from Dawn's Stampin Thoughts. She posted a video on youtube stating how to make it. To find it it should come up if you follow this link http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=y7z8SD-k6i8.

The colours I used were SU Pale Plum, Perfect Plum, Whisper White, Pretty in Pink and the ribbon is in Certainly Celery. I also used Creamy Caramel to colour in the basket.
The stamp sets were Botanical Blossoms from SU, some of the writing is from a Papermania set I have and the Rabbit and some writing is from the Daisy and Dandelion range at Docrafts. I think the rabbit's called Marshmallow but I could be wrong. The 'Brackets' are also an SU stamp but I don't know which set.

Evenin all!
Today I decided to make a card that would qualify for more than one challenge.

Challenge one is Funky Friday Challenge (all the links to these challenges are at the side. I have yet to work out how to put one in here. If anyone knows how and is willing to share, Please Help!), which is a colour challenge this week. The colours were Almost Amethyst, Apricot Appeal, Tempting Turquoise, Ballet Blue and Whisper White.

Challenge two is the Cupcake Craft Challenge, where you needed to use the word friend or friendship.

Challenge three was over at Cute Card Thursday and they requested the use of ribbon,

Challenge four was at Penny Black Saturday Challenge, and that was for the sketch, which was really fun.
And finally, Challenge five was over at Crafty Catz Weekly Challenge, and they wanted us to use a fancy edge and a ribbon.

This is my card for the challenge over at "A Spoonful of Sugar". The theme is Springtime and I figured that bunnies should fit the bill!

I used SU Pale Plum and Perfect Plum cardstock, the backing paper is from Forever Friends and the stamp is from a new set I got for Valentines. Marshmallow I think, from Docrafts? The scalloping was done with the SU Corner Rounder with the guard removed. Flowers and brads from my stash.

The greeting is SO adorable, I love it!

Hello again!

I had made a few cards over the last few days that were quite complicated and I saw that the challenge over at the Cupcake Craft Challenges was to 'keep it simple' so here is the card I made. The image is from the Penny Black "12 Days of Christmas" set that I adore. I find that the individual stamps can be used for a variety of different occasions. You know what they say, " A pet (goose) is not just for christmas!"

Stampers 10 Inspiration!

This week I got to go to the first meeting of the current Stampers 10 I'm in. I was really excited to go as I don't think I'll be able to get to any more :(, and the project was really pretty and was a bit of a challenge too as I'd not made it before.

This isn't what I made on the night but it is my version of it with the supplies I have at home.

I used Pale Plum, Close to Cocoa, Whisper White and Pretty in Pink. The ribbon, backing paper and heart stamp were not SU stock but co-ordinated really well. I even got to use my crimper for I think the second time in over 6 months!

I really like these. The box is too adorable! The template for it is available on the Cornwall Crafty Stampers blog aswell, so if you want to make one you can pop on over there. Abi has even made a video that you should be able to watch.

Funky Friday # 46

Evening!

The Funky Friday Challenge this week was a sketch one. I felt more comfortable doing a sketch this time than the last.

I used Pale Plum, Whisper White and Perfect Plum. I'm on a bit of a Pale Plum run at the moment. I was looking through my cardstock and realised that I had about 9 sheets that I hadn't used so I decided it was time to and then got a bit carried away as you will probably find out if you view the posts over the next couple of days!

Anyway, I really enjoyed the challenge and am quite pleased with the result. I did make one big mistake as I forgot to put a piece of white card behind the Perfect Plum. Grrr.

The stamps are from a new set that I got for Valentines from my Hubby. Very cute!

Hello again!

I figured that Valentine Colours could include Grey. Well this card is for Valentines (I think) and it includes grey, so there! If it didn't before it does now.

I used SU Basic Grey card for the very first time which I found quite fun, and I also used either Pixie Pink or Pink Passion. I can't remember which. The hedgehog stamps are from Penny Black and the words are from the SU Seasonal Wishes set.

I really like the way that this card is pink but not too pink, if there can be such a thing;)

How are you enjoying the holidays?
Well this is the first card I made after being inspired by the Funky Friday Challenge. The theme was "Valentine Colours", which is luckily quite ambiguous as the next card I post will show!
For this one I went with the colours Whisper White, Pink Passion and Lovely Lilac and apart from a gold brad that's all I used.
The stamp set was Fresh Cuts and I also used the Oval All set along with the matching punches.

Good Morning!

This is a card I made a while ago that I decided I needed to finally post.

I used mainly non SU stuff just so that I could get rid of it without wasting it. I did use the Su stamp set Unfrogettable though, which is so cute, on the inside. I adore it!

Actually you can tell how long ago I originally made this by the amount of sunshine coming through the window. It was a really sunny day and it has a while since we had one of those, huh?

Due to the amount of sunshine its alittle hard to see the colour on the flowers but they are purple.

Good Morning!
Hope that you are all having a fab Saturday morning. I am! Crafting, crumpets and last weeks Top Spot for the Funky Friday Challenge! I'm so excited!
Anyway, (after I take a deep breath) here is the card I made for this weeks challenge. It was another sketch but you could use any colours you liked.
I used Regal Rose, Whisper White, Certainly Celery and Pretty in Pink, whether in cardstock Stampin' Pastels or inks. I also did some clear embossing which I haven't done in an age. Hope you like.

This is another You Tube inspired card. I think it was Dawn from Dawns Stampin Thoughts but she used fish not puppies and kittens. The stamps are from SU but I don't know what the name of the set is as they were a gift.

The inks I used were SU pretty in Pink and Regal Rose.

This is a little card I made after watching a video on You Tube yesterday. Sorry I can't remember who made the card. I tried to find it again and it came up with lots of similar cards but I can't find the one I watched originally! Sorry whoever you were! Your card was gorgeous.
I used SU Orchid Opulence as my base card and some Forever Friends paper for the patchwork. I also used SU Pretty in Pink ink and Orchid Opuence in the Stampin' Pastels. It was only when I was 3/4 of the way through the card that I realised I don't have the inks in the Bold Brights set. That will be remedied in the next Stampers 10 meeting. I'm exited:)

The flower was from a Papermania set that co-ordinates with my SU stuff really well.

Stampers 10 Project

I couldn't get to this months Stampers 10 meeting, so our great demonstrator Abi gave me all the stuff for me to do the project at home and I have to say I love it! Very impressed. I want the template to make some more! (Hint, Hint!)

I don't know which SU DSP it was but it matches the Playful Petal stamp set I have so that was the natural choice for the decoration on the front. The card I used was Perfect Plum, So Saffron and Certainly Celery. I put some post-its and a small pencil inside the drawer and am going to keep it near the phone. No-one else is going to get this.
Thank you Abi! Sorry to finish this Stampers 10 but very glad to be starting the new one!

Funky Friday challenge # 42

Morning all!
Well I have finally taken a break from the Family History to get the craft stuff out and make some stuff!

This is the first thing I made. I can't believe they had snow as the theme! I personally had had enough of it and had only just put my Christmassy stamps away, but nevermind. I decided to try and make it snowy without being Christmassy.
I've never made one of these word books before but thought that this was a great opportunity to try one.

I used lots of blues (all from SU) and so many different stamp sets I don't know if I will remember them all.

Flowers anyone?

This should be my absolutely last post of the day despite it only being 10 o'clock in the morning!

This is another card that I made yesterday. I used a new Penny Black stamp that my hubby got me for Christmas. I thought it was a really pretty stamp and it seems to go really well with the SU DSP. I also got the chance to use the diamond X-Cut Shape cutter that was another Christmas gift.
I think its very cute and springified if you know what I mean.

My First Book-a-trix

Hello again.

This is my first ever attempt at a book-a-trix card. My husband got me my board for Christmas and so I though that I should finally get on and use it. I'm quite pleased with the results. As my hubby said " it's better than I thought it would be". The joys from being married, huh?
The colour of the shoes didn't quite come out as dark in the picture as it is in the flesh but as it was me taking the photos it could be alot worse!

Christmas gifts.

Hi everyone!

Enjoying the snow? Did you all have a nice Christmas and New Year? I hope you did!

Well this is my first post in ages. All I seemed to be making were Christmas cards which I didn't want to post before I'd posted them, if you catch my drift, and then I realised that I hadn'y taken pictures of any of them! Typical, huh? That about sums up me!Well, these are little 3x3 cards that I made as a gift for my friend Pat who is a complete sweetheart.

There were 9 in all and I did make a darling little box for them to go into but I didn't take a picture of it.

So I hope that you like them (and that Pat did!).

This is a card I made yesterday. I wanted to use up some of my non-SU cardstock and the red was from some pre-scored cards I bought about two years ago. I did cheat and use SU Very Vanilla though!
The ribbon I bought from The Range and the stamp came from my new Penny Black set "Every Which Way".

    The weather has been so bad the last few days that I needed to cheer myself up with some sunshine colours!
    This card was made with some scrap card from my stash that I am trying to use up.
The stamp is from a new set that my darlin' Hubby bought me for my birthday. It's from Penny Blacks "Every which way" clear stamp set which I completely adore! The ribbon is SU Close to Cocoa Grosgrain and the flowers were from my stash.

I saw that no one had posted a card for the last challenge and so decided to make one. The colours were very pretty, they were Very Vanilla, Pretty in Pink, Close to Cocoa, Creamy Caramel and Lavender lace.

Funky Friday # 39

Afternoon everyone!
Today is a good day. I am not at work and am getting to spend the day crafting and watching Twilight. It doesn't get much better than that, huh?
Well this is the card I made with the colours needed to meet the challenge criteria. The colours were Old Olive, Whisper White (or Very Vanilla), Bravo Burgundy, Hansome Hunter and Real Red. Although these are very Christmassy colours I decided to go against the seasonal trend. I am making enough Christmas cards as it is!

The size and shape of the card was really ruled by how much of each colour I had in card. I am seroiusly starting to get short of my Rich Regals. I had cut the Hansome Hunter into a round card ages ago and had no large pieces of any of the others.
   The DSP was a gift from someone but I do know that it is SU Real Red and the flower on the greeting was just watercoloured Bravo Burgundy.
   The white glitter was from my stash and I used my Glue Pad to make it stick. To make sure it didn't rub off I put acetate over the top.

Funky Friday Challenge # 37

Sorry its so late. I finaly started making my Christmas cards last week and suddenly realised that this one was in the right colours for the Funky Friday Challenge! I did add Very Vanilla to the Old Olive, Real Red and Chocolate Chip, but everyone else who entered seemed to add Whisper White so I'm hoping it will be ok:)

I started making the card before I decided on which image to use only to find out that none of my SU Christmas images would fit onto the side panel, so I had to use one that I obtained from elsewhere. I do like the tree but I preferred the tree that was on the back of the stamp. Yes, they were different! But, never mind. At least it fit. I didn't want too cutsy an image as I felt that the colours and DSP were quite elegant. The sentiment came from a retired Su set that I can't remember the name of! Abi?

This is my favourite card of the moment. I just copied the design from a demo on youtube. I can't get the link to work but the title of it is "Fancy Fold Valentines Day Card with Dawn Griffith".

I used my new Old Olive DSP, Cameo Coral cardstock and inks in the same colours all from SU. The stamp set is a retired set from Stampin' Up called Unfrogettable.

I don't know who is going to get this - I may keep it as I love it so! Never mind, eh?

Hello everyone.

Hope you are having a great crafting wekend. I was going through my card supply looking for a card and basket I made a few weeks ago for a friend of mine who is leaving the area and whilst I didn't find what I was looking for I did find a pile of cards that I'd forgotten I'd made.

This is one that could really use some spongeing around the edges to give it a more 3D effect but I still think that the idea is fun.

Cupcake Craft Challenge - Cute as a bug!

This is my first entry for the Cupcake Craft Challenge. The theme was "Cute as a Bug".

Cardstock used was SU Bordering Blue and some scrap card from my stash.

Inks were Versamark, SU Certainly Celery, Pretty in Pink, Almost Amethyst Barely Banana and Creamy Caramel - I also used these colours in the Stamping Pastels.

For the embellishments I used some buttons from my stash and a frame from my Pewter Hodgepodge Hardware.

The stamps were from my Penny Black Garden Friends set and the greeting from SU's Oval All.

I really like this card. I was thinking about giving it to my niece for her birthday.

I'm SO excited! This is the first card I have made for a challenge other than Funky Friday and I must say I am quite pleased with the result! As usual it looks better in the flesh!

The challenge needed you to use Chocolate, Lemon and Pink. The yellow isn't strictly lemon but was the closest I had so I hope it will do.

I used Chocolate chip, Close to Cocoa, So Safron and Pretty in Pink. The stamp is from my Penny Black 12 Days of Christmas set and the embellishments were from my stash.

A Leafy Look

The Bud Basics Stamp set was one of the first I purchased and I used to use it ALL the time. However it seems to have been left by the wayside somewhat since I got a larger stamp collection which I think is a mistake. I need to play with it again!
This card was made with SU Taken with Teal cardstock and some white card and silver paper from my stash. I used silver ink and versamark to stamp the flowers and highlighted the versamark on the white with my SU Stampin' Pastels - again in Taken with Teal.
Topped it with a teal leaf from my stash and a button that matched.
A simple card that will be used for a "thank you" card most likely.

Pretty in Pink - and Green!

This is a little card I made a couple of days ago. I used a pink pre-scored card from my stash, Certainly Celery DSP, Whisper White cardstock with Certainly Celery and Pretty in Pink ink to sponge the edges. The stamp is from Forever Friends and is remarkably cute!

For embellishments I used some silver brads, silver peel-offs, pink organza ribbon and a couple of pink flowers lurking in the back of my stash.

Who is having a baby girl? All these baby cards and everyone has stopped producing! I consider it very thoughtless of them! Lol.

More Filigree.

Here is another card I made using the Filigree medallion stamp. It has the same basic recipe but instead of layering the medallion this time I just stamped it with silver permanent ink and clear embossed onto vellum. I gave the card an insert of white paper so that it gives the vellum a nice airy look.

Vellum filigree

Hello everyone!

This is a card I made using a filigree medallion stamp I bought form somewhere. I started off with a yellow 5" square textured pre-scored card (I love 5" square cards as they just seem the perfect size to me!). I used my Ultimate Pro to score a square in the centre and to emboss the pattern around the edge and then cut out the centre of my square with a craft knife. I backed the square with white card.

With the medalion stamp I stamped it onto vellum with Staz-on enough times to be able to cut layers out. I then layered them up and used a brad to keep them in place. The daisies were punched from vellum too and attached the same way.

My camera can't seem to photograph yellow very well. It's quite a pretty light colour not this bananary.

Hopefully the result is simple but pretty.

Glittery Guess?

This is another card that gets rid of more non SU stock, although I did make it a while back. I stamped the image with my glue pad and then covered it with some very fine pink glitter. To make sure the glitter stayed on I overlayed it with some acetate and attatched that with brads. It came out better than I thought although I did smudge the glitter a little as I attached the acetate.

This was a card of two halves.
I made the base of the card months ago but felt that it needed a little something more but wasn't sure what. Anyway when I was going through the cards that had been damaged in the "incidedent" I came across it again and decided thet I would give it a topper.
I now prefer the topper to the rest of the card even though I put it on too low. Grrrrr!
I even watercoloured him in all SU inks!

My Monochrome Look

I decided that I wanted to try a monochrome card and this is what I came up with.

The stamp is a free one that I got with a magazine over a year ago. Foam backed so it is a pain to use. However I thought that it would go really well with the look I wanted. The ribbon was from a pack of sticky-backed ribbon which is quite useful as long as you don't want to make a bow from it.

It was very simple to make but I think it looks quite effective.

Laced Box

Good afternoon! This is a box that I made using 5 individual pieces of card that I laced together with some fine white ribbon. The pink base card is from some pearlescent pre-scored cards that I'm trying to get rid of. I matted and layered with some white card and blue patterned paper that I think was from Papermania.

The fan flowers were made using the SU Certainly Celery DSP that is about to retire and I topped that off with a circle of pink, a daisy and a blue brad.

The lacing was a little tricky and the flower was a bit time comsuming but I really love the overall result.

Now I need to try and find some little 3D butterflies to go with the flowers. I will go and hunt in my stash.

Collecting Roses

This is a wee card i made which again uses up some more non-SU stock.
I used a pre-scored 5" square card in peach from which I cut about 3" off and repaced the missing peach with white. The white card I embossed using my Crafters Companion Ultimate Pro and I topped the card off with an image from my Garden Friends clear stamp set from Penny Black. I watercoloured with my Smiths pencils and finished off with some soft green brads and a vertical peel-off.
The peel-off isn't double embossed which i'm not happy with but nevermind eh? We can't have everything can we? It wouldn't be good for us. Mores the pity, lol!

Hello again,
This is another card that has been made and helps me get rid of my non SU stock.
I used a 5" square pre-scored card in yellow which I cut short using my fireworks punch. I used plain white card to fill in the space and my SU So Swirly Jumbo Roller and Versamark to create the watermark effect at the bottom.
The stamp is from Penny Black and I watercoloured with my Smiths pencils.
The corners were rounded with my SU Corner Rounder (oddly enough!) and I finished it off with some white ribbon that had a yellow sparkle to it.
There was originally a pad that went with this but I can't find it.

Good Morning all!
I don't know about where you are but here the sun is shining, the flat is tidy (pretty much!) and it is now crafting time!
This is a card that I made using some non SU stock. I started with a yellow pre-scored card that I had lying around and I layered it with some perlescent white card and topped that with the Forever Friends stamp on ovals that I made using my X- cut template cutter and some patterned paper.
I watercoloured using my Smiths watercolour pencils and finished it with a butterfly I made and a piece of thin satin ribbon.
Although you can't see it too well on here the bear is actually decoupaged only I didn't use sticky pads. It just gives it a bit of 3D without being too much.

I decided today to try an different style of card. I think that I like this style. More eclectic and less formal. I normally have more symmetry. But I like this and will definitely be working on it more.

The colours I used were Not quite Navy (which I am in love with at the moment!), Elegant Eggplant, Perfect Plum and Old Olive. I also used some patterned paper I've had for years, Versamark and Stampin' Pastels.

The large oval and its topper I made with my X-Cutter template and the scallops were made with the SU corner rounder.

I used some Old Olive grosgrain ribbon that I salvaged off a card that had been ruined in the previous incident that I don't talk about anymore:( I water coloured with my Smiths watercolour pencils and my Stampin' Spots.

Hope you like it. Please let me know what you think as I could do with some Constructive criticism. (Don't be too harsh or I may cry - seriously!)Lol.

I've just gone through a box of cards that I took around to someones house a while back for the lady to go through and choose any she wanted. I didn't stay whilst she looked through them in case I made her feel uncomfortable. Having just gone through them now a good 90% have been damaged and most of those are beyond repair! I wanted to get rid of some of them because I had too many but I didn't want to throw them out because they had been ruined.
I could cry! Need a hug.

Funky Friday # 33

Another challenge! I'm so happy. Well here it is. The colours were Really Rust, Pumpkin Pie, Chocolate Chip, Regal Rose and Whisper White.

I had run out of Regal Rose card so I used as close a match as I could.

Started off with a 4" square base card in the Regal Rose and topped it with some Chocolate Chip card and some vellum which I stamped with a flower from the Oh, So Lovely hostess set. I coloured the image in with the Chocolate Chip, Really Rust and Pumpkin Pie. The vellum is attached with two brads in Regal rose and the greeting is from the Fresh Cuts set stamped onto vellum and backed with Really rust card. The Regal Rose card I also stamped with Staz-on white ink.

I did have to use some black for the stamping onto the vellum. I don't think white would have worked.

Gift bag and matching card

This is another item that I made after going to a Stampers 10 class.
It is just such a good way of making a bag and card to match. I've made them in Blue, green and pink too.
And all done with an envelope, a sheet of A4 white card and a prescored card that I had lying around. I also used the A little bit of Happiness Stamp set which I coloured with my watercolour pencils and water brush. I used a small 3/4" punc for the handle as I made it before I had my Oval Punch set.
The yellow card I used is actually alot lighter in the flesh.

Baby Boy

Those of you in our Stampers 10 group will recognise this pram, huh? I had a template that I could print off do make it before but it is so much simpler with a punch!
I used some pre-scored cards that I had from a while back that I used as my base. I embossed the white at the back with my Fiskars board ( by hand!) and did some matting and layering on top. I rounded the corners with my Stampin' Up corner rounder and used my sponge daubers to highlight the edge of all the blue card with Tempting Turquoise in the Stampin' Pastels.
I used the last of my silver buttons as wheels and embellishments which i attached with glue dots and finished off with my Oval punches and a silver peel-off.
All I need now is someone who is giving birth to a baby boy.

Consider it christmas

I have been intending to make some of these bon-bon baskets for an age now and when I found out that this is what was being made at the Stampers 10 meeting that I couldn't get to I figured now was the time.
Just to pre-warn you - If you are on my Christmas card list you will almost certainly be getting a Christmas one of these. I LOVE them. Completely!
For the white one I used a stamp from my Penny Black Garden Friends set and for the one in Not quite Navy(I think!) and Perfect Plum, I used the flower from my Fresh Cuts set from Stampin' Up.

The question now is, For Christmas do you want yours filled with chocolate, fudge, nuts or a candle? Let me know!

Hello to the big goodbye!

Morning all!
I decided on Saturday that it was time to start saying goodbye to all the cardstock I have that is not Stampin' Up or in the SU colours. I can't replace it anyway and on the whole I much prefer SU colours. So, here is the first card in the attempt but far from the last as I have tons of it.
I used some orange pearlesent cardstock to make the 5" square base card, embossed with my Fiskars board and then matted and layered some with the Forever Friends stamp and the "Hello" stamp . I watercoloured with some pencils I bought from Smiths and finished off with some punched dots in the brown as it ties in with the dots on the "Hello"
A very simple card to make but jollied along with the shiny card.

Funky Friday challenge # 32.2

Good Morning!

Well, this is my second entry for this weeks challenge. Sorry the picture is a little blurry - I took it.

The colours were Taken with Teal, Tempting Turquoise, Whisper White and Basic Black.

Started with a White A6 card blank and matted and layered with the Turquoise, Black and White.

The stamp is from the Forever Friends range and I watercoloured the flowers with my Taken with Teal Stampin Spot.

I used a band of the Teal at the botom and I attatched the Fresh Cuts flowers with sticky pads to 3D them a little. I topped the flowers off with some Black dots and some Teal flowers I had left over from when I used my Fireworks Punch before it broke on me. I also added a few of the tiny flowers to create a bit more interest around the topper.

The edges of the topper were tabbed using my 3/4 inch round punch.

Good afternoon! Hope you are having as great a day as I am. Two whole days off in a row. Wow! Crafting time me thinks.

This is my first entry for this weeks challenge. Our colours are Taken with Teal, Tempting Turquoise, Whisper White and Basic Black.

I didn't have any Tempting Turquoise so I found the nearest match I could from my stash.

I started off with a 5" square card in the white. I drew some lines with a pencil, that was in Taken with Teal, at the top and bottom and did some matting and layering with the turquoise, white and black card.

The stamp is again from the Penny Black 12 days of Christmas set (can you guess which day this one is?). I cut out a circle with my coluzzle, placed it over the stamped image and used my Teal Stampin' Pastel to soften around it. I watercoloured with my Teal Stampin' Spot and the sentiment is from the Fresh Cuts stamp set. I finished off with some ribbon I had that was in Teal and white.

I like this card. Not too busy. Could possibly do with a charm on a jump ring around the center of the ribbon, but then it wouldn't be in the correct colours.

I was sat there yesterday wondering what to make when I caught my eye on the Elegant Eggplant card I had left and decided, What the heck! So here is my second card for this weeks challenge.

The base card is a 5" square in black with the front diagonally cut. I used the It's Beautiful Jumbo Roller as the highlight on the back which I clear embossed (quite hard to see on this picture but trust me, it's there), and the topper is made with one of the Playful Petals stamps. I watercoloured with the Grey and Eggplant(pencils not ink).

This card is most definitely better when you see it in the flesh.

Cabbage Bunny

This is another card I made with the Penny Black Garden Friends clear stamp set. It's a little simpler than some of the cards I make. but I had a friend in mind as the recipient who really isn't the frilly sort - if you know what I mean. And she does alot of gardening.

I used some inexpensive pre-scored card for the base and layered with white (of course) and some Old Olive that I stamped with Versamark and Oh So Lovely hostess set to make a slight pattern. I also watercolured the image with my Smiths pencils.

Very simple I hope.

I decided that it was time I posted some more cards that weren't part of the Funky Friday challenge. So here are some of them.

These two are similar as I used the same Penny Black stamp from their Garden Friends set. The border on the purple card was made using a Papermania stamp from their Doodle set and the embossing on the pink card was made using the Ulimate Crafters Companion Pro.

The stamps are just so sweet. They make me feel all girly and lighthearted.

Another week has passed and this morning, by 7.30am I had managed to hoof my husband off the computer and had gone in search of this weeks challenge. Then to my horror there was no challenge posted! What was I to do? Well, by 10 o'clock I had had enough of being patient and phoned Abi. One hour later I was starting my card :)

This weeks colours were Basic Grey, Whisper White, Basic Black and either Elegant Eggplant or Bravo Burgundy. As I am short of Eggplant I went for the latter.

I used Bravo Burgundy as my base card and topped it with Whisper white with scalloped edges. I repeated the vine stamp from the Fresh Cuts set across the front (I only inked it up once so it would pale as it went across).

I used my coluzzle to make the outer circle of the topper and punched around it with my corner rounder, then I used black beads to embellish. The bird stamp is from the Penny Black Garden Friends set and I coloured him in with grey and more Bravo Burgundy. I finished off with two small strips of Basic Gray and the "for you", again from the Fresh Cuts set.

I adore this stamp because I think it is cute the way the bird (or Dave as I have named him!) is looking up at the greeting.

Two in two days! I'm glad to be in a crafty mood again and am completley loving my new Stampin' stuff.

The colours for this challenge were Elegant Eggplant, Lavender Lace, Whisper White and Summer Sun. I used the Fresh cuts stamp set from the Stampin' Up mini catalogue and I decoupaged the large leaf at the bottom corner and the flower in the top left and I coloured in the flowers with a watercolour pencil that was as close to Summer Sun as I could find. Haven't put a greeting on it yet as I couldn't decide which one to use.

Hello everyone,

Hope all you parents are still enjoying the school holidays. I know I'm looking forward to them all going back and I don't even have any!

Anyway, this is the card I made today for the challenge. I would have made it before but I was waiting on my Stampin' Up order to arrive. The colours were Bashful Blue, Whisper White, Certainly Celery and Basic Grey. It is a pretty simple card so I won't bore you with the details. The stamp sets I used were the Oh, so Lovely hostess set from the last catalogue and the Fresh Cuts set from the new mini catalogue.

I don't know about you but I enjoyed this challenge alot more than last weeks! The colours were Rose Red, Old Olive, Creamy Caramel and Pretty in Pink. or Rose Red and Whisper White. I actually used Whisper White along with the first set of colours. So sue me!

My base card was Old Olive and I matted and layered with Pretty in Pink and more Old Olive. I coloured the edges with my sponge daubers. I finally got a good result with them! I used the So Swirly jumbo roller from Stampin' Up with Creamy Caramel ink and for the oval topper I used the oval stamp set from the mini catalougue. I edged that with the Rose Red ink and finished it with some Pretty in Pink taffeta ribbon. The sequins were some that I had for ages but matched the Pretty in Pink. The white was in the beads I used to secure the sequins to the card.

Well this is this weeks post. On time too!

Again I didn't have any ink or card in Orchid Opulence, but I did have the other colours (which were Really Rust, Bravo Burgundy and Very Vanilla) in card and Bravo Burgundy in ink.

I used versamark for the leafy border which is a Stampin' Up stamp just not one that is available at the monent. The only items not Stampin' Up were the button and the Happy Birthday Stamp.

I found the colours a challenge but then that is what Abi intended wasn't it?

Hi guys,
Here is the card I made for last weeks challenge.
I loved the colour combo of Chocolate Chip, Close to Cocoa, Very Vanilla and Barely Banana. I didn't have ink in any of the colours but managed to find a permanent ink in a colour very near Close to Cocoa.
I used the corner punch for the scalloped edges and the Playful Petals stamp set from the mini catalogue. I relly like this card and I hope you do too!

This is my what I came up with for week 25 challenge. I promise I did make them that week, I only got the camera out today after I had made this weeks.

I only had Orchid Opulence in Stampin' Pastels so it was very awkward. They definitely looked better in my head.

Birthday card for my Sister-in-Law

This is a card I made for my Sister-in-Law Julie's birthday (I have two called that-very confusing as they have birthdays within days of each other). However, this is a fun one that I hope she won't mind. The birthday is a biggy and she isn't overly exited about getting another year older! So I thought that this stamp from my Penny Black "Twelve days of christmas" stamp set would do nicely. Also I love these colours together. I embossed part of the background with one of my Fiskars embossing boards - no cuttlebug so I did all that with a ball tool, go me!- and attached some punched flowers with coordinating brads. This one of my favourite cards. I just think that it is really cute so I really hope you like it too!

Hello again.

These are a couple of the card I made with the hostess set I got from Stampin' Up. I used my Fireworks punch from Dovecraft and some pre-scored cards I bought in bulk a while back. I also threaded some of the punched holes with some narrow satin ribbon that I had lying around.

Not sure which one of these is my favourite although I think it may be the green due to the added lacy look.

No, still not sure.

Playful Petals

These are a couple of cards I made with the Stampin' Up Playful Petals stamp set. I really love the way you can decoupage them! You can't really see it on the green card but I did versamark the white card to give it a bit more interest. You can see it alot better if you click on the card image. Unfortunately I am pretty much the worlds worst photographer so they never seem to come out very well. I will get my husband to take as many of them as I can.
